Patient-Therapist Agreement Plan
We endeavour to provide the highest quality of physiotherapy care possible, in return we ask that patients treat staff members and other patients and service users with respect. Please see below for further details.
Your Initial Physiotherapy Assessment
During your initial consultation, the Physiotherapist will ask you to tell your story on why you are attending today. They may further delve into information that may be of benefit in diagnosing and assessing your injury. These questions may be personal in nature, however they are vitally important in making an appropriate decision on your management. We ask all patients to be as open and honest as possible when telling us their story. We appreciate this can be difficult and may need time to develop a rapport.
In order to properly assess you, the Physiotherapist may need to see the affected area. In the instances of having an injury to the lower back or legs, it would be useful if you could bring a pair of shorts to change into, similarly for an upper limb condition bringing a vest top to change into would be useful.
If you feel the examination process may be an uncomfortable experience for you, please notify the physiotherapy team that you would like a chaperone to attend the appointment with you. Please feel comfortable in asking any questions before, during or after your initial assessment and our team will be more then happy to explain in a prompt and clear manner.
Consent to treatment
Physiotherapists will not begin any form of hands on assessment or treatment unless you have given your consent. This may be given verbally for the majority of hands on assessment and treatment, or for some interventions such as acupuncture, written consent will be required.
Cancellation Policy
It is ReBuild Physio’s policy that appointments cancelled with less than 6 hour’s notice will be charged at the full cost of the appointment. . Reminder emails and/or text messages are sent as a courtesy to all our clients, however the onus is on yourself to keep a record of all of your future appointments.
Referrals
When further treatment or imaging is required we may refer you onto a third party, whereby we will send a referral letter, after which the responsibility is on you to arrange an appointment with them. Once under their care you will be bound by the terms and conditions of that third party and we undertake no liability with respect to that third party.
Direct Payments
When you are required to pay the full cost of your treatment, we will take payment via the website or cash in person. Block bookings will be via direct debit. Details will be shared in your appointment.
Medical Insurance and Payments
At this present time we do not accept medical insurance for payments of the treatment. We are aiming to delve into this area further in the coming months however at this time, payment can be made online with the booking system or in person. Note: you will have to call ahead to book an appointment slot if you wish to pay in person.
Chaperone Policy
If you feel you would like a chaperone present at your consultation please either inform the physiotherapy team beforehand on initial booking of your appointment or prior to the initial assessment.
